A Congressman who I have yet to identify, makes some very compelling arguments on the state of our nation and how lawful citizens can have their guns seized for nothing more than an anonymous tip. I understand that laws are in place that establishes this policy but it is a terrible policy that clearly violates the 5th Amendment’s protections against the deprevation of “life, liberty or property, without due process of law”. It is difficult to imagine how anyone could consider an anonymous tip as “due process”. Then there are the people that will say, “better to err on the side of caution”. I will be there to tell you that when your rights have been violated because you had a grudge with someone and it only took an “anonymous” tip to have your rights seized.
