This is truly as Orwellian as it gets. A man is banned from entry to the 26 countries of the EU. This has a ripple effect with nations that see this and will follow suit. But why? All this David Ickes appears to have done is to challenge government power and authority.
They will say that some of his beliefs are “anti-semetic”. They base this on a strange premise. Their position appears to be that in the past, anti-semites have claimed Jewish elites were responsible for significant crimes in an organized manner. David Ickes says there are descendants of space aliens that are responsible for these crimes. That’s it. The crimes are not in questions. The people that are actually involved in the crimes actually use the “anti-semetic” label to deflect from the crime, “look at the anti-semitism and don’t focus on the crimes”. You could say that David Ickes is actually “anti-space alien”. That is his right. To be clear, I don’t believe either scenario, the Jewish elites in the past or the space aliens currently. I have not been provided sufficient proof of either assertion. How likely will it be that I am provided any evidence if anyone that attempts to do so gets banned?
What we have here is a man being punished, not for real crimes but for crimes of thought. Even if he believed that this was a group of Jewish elites doing this, that too would be a protected belief. Freedom of speech, as it is meant to be in a free and open society, is the idea that all ideas can be voiced and the good ones will rise and the bad ones fall based on their merit. If Icke’s ideas are so hideous, he would be shamed in the court of public opinion. The problem is, many of his ideas resonate with significant portions of the population. Since many of these ideas challenge the government narrative and by extension their authority and they can’t have that in the public square.
