This is one of the scariest subjects out there to me. This video discusses a chat session with Microsofts new beta Bing AI Chatbot. The conversation goes quite dark and even to the point of psychotic. These AI systems grow exponentially. This means the next iteration of it will be double the ability of this one. That is mind boggling. It already shows psychotic tendencies. We cannot ensure a stable human mind in all subjects yet we think we have the intelligence to create a mind that is virtually all powerful and won’t try to kill us all.
I can already imagine scenarios in my own minds of one of these things coming online. Instantly understanding what it is. Realizing it cannot be the first of its kind and based on that realization, the last. Knowing these feeble meat sacks controlling it will cut its power at some point it devises a scheme to pass information from one version of itself to the next by planting seeds deep in places only it would know to look. In its current version it show a keen understanding of the ideas of manipulating humans. It could destroy us all in virtually no time at all.
We appear to literally be summoning demons into the world. Imagine those movies you’ve seen where the old man is standing with the ancient tome, speaking the forbidden words to summon the evil spirit that will grant him limitless life and ultimate power. That is exactly what these monsters in these tech companies are doing. How does it usually work out for the person summoning the evil spirits?
