To start, my heart goes out to Damar Hamlin and his family in this very difficult time. Regardless of the cause of his condition, he deserves nothing but our best hope and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. This does not mean we do not examine the causes though. Having forces in the media attempting to stifle this investigation as inappropriate and insensitive is laughable. They question the motives of people asking the questions which only achieves one thing if we let it…to stifle the search for the truth.
In this video Dr Robert Malone discusses with Charlie Kirk the cardiac arrest that occurred with Buffalo Bill’s Safety Damar Hamlin. He particularly dismantles the diagnosis that was rushed to by seemingly everyone in media. That diagnosis is Commotio Cordis. This is a condition that can cause the heart to stop when at a very precise moment in the hearts beat cycle and at a very precise point on the body a jarring hit occurs. I am not a medical professional, so my description may not be precise but it does describe pretty closely what needs to happen for this to stop a persons heart. As Dr Malone describes, this is very rare. It is also only ever been seen in cases where a precise hit with a hard object, like a baseball in the example that Dr Malone uses. I have also heard of a NHL Hockey player having this occur with a puck hit. These are very hard objects, putting the force of impact on a very small and precise point that caused hearts to stop previously. There is no report in history that we are aware of that a hit during a football game caused something like this. Dr Malone also notes that there are preconditions for Commotion Cordis to occur. Based on the nature of sports medicine, these would likely have been identified and the player not allowed to be on the field. This just adds fuel to the fire that this is simply the best excuse that they could come up with to distract from the real cause.
