The collapse on the field of Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin is tragic. It cannot be looked at as isolated though. It had the uniqueness of being seen by so many since it happened during a NFL Monday Night Football game. This meant that millions witnessed it first hand. Damar also had the fortune that this event happened in such a venue where medical assistance was literally a few steps away. In a smaller event or if this happened in a practice type of setting, he might not have had the nearly instant intervention. This probably saved his life since the latest report indicates he is still in critical condition but he has regained consciousness and has made significant progress.
As I stated, his situation is not unique. There are a heartbreaking number of young, mostly athletic men dying or collapsing in a similar manner. This is not unique now but it used to be. It used to be a few years ago but now it is becoming all too common. The problem is, everyone wants to try and deflect from the elephant in the room cause. They can’t take a serious look at these situation and ask what’s changed in the time that this significant uptick in these cases have occurred. It is plainly obvious but they will still point to climate change or even the sound of the official’s whistle apparently scaring these men into heart attacks. If you suggest the obvious cause, you are an anti-vaxxer, a conspiracy theorist. The latter being a term that does not make any argument for a position. It simply marginalizes anyone that has a countering viewpoint.
This video is a bit long but it details an incredible number of similar events to Damar Hamlin’s but these ones did not get the same press because they happened in smaller venues or not necessarily on the field at all. Europe has already y seen many instances like Damar’s. You can find countless videos of soccer players collapsing on the pitch. I have even post some. Don’t let them marginalize you to silence on this event by calling you names. Demand answers for Damar and the other victims.
Sometimes when I post things about jab victims, I will get people that have reprehensible responses. They essentially blame the victims. This is wrong. In the case of a NFL player, this man spent years of his relatively short life preparing to attain this level of play. Then to have the league say, bend your knee and present your arm. Let us push this into you body or we will destroy everything you have worked so hard for. It would be a difficult decision. Treat them as you would wish to be treated if you were injured. BB
