My wife and I ventured from southern Michigan to central Indiana to see the total eclipse on 4/8/24. I am 57 years old and never previously witnessed a full eclipse. I have been through a couple partials where you could do the hole in a piece of paper and see the crescent of the sun on the ground. The full eclipse was simply beyond anything I could have imagined. Totality where I was at was only 3 minutes 43 seconds but it was a life changing event.

It started with watching through the special glasses as the last little sliver of the Suns surface disappeared behind the Moon. Then it was complete black. I for a moment was wondering where was the glow. I then dropped my glasses and had a “wow” moment. It was simply incredible.

I started to ponder how improbable the nature of this is. What are the odds that our planet would have such a huge satellite and that our celestial companion would be 400 time smaller than the Sun yet 400 time closer as to create the perfect symmetry of this wondrous spectacle? I cannot imagine how anyone could see this and not be convinced of a creator. BB
