I have seen this myself. It was not a life or death situation for me. I simply requested of my personal doctor, if he would prescribe Ivermectin to me for use as a prophylactic or in case of infection. His response was he would not. The reason given was that another doctor had done in the same health system and got into considerable trouble. My doctor did tell me that I could find resources for the medication online which I did after this. For the record, I have never had COVID in the nearly 3 years since its inception.
