This video is awesome. It showcases how hideous electric vehicles (EVs) are in cold climates. This is especially true when the mercury dips below 0 Fahrenheit. It shows Tesla owners in Chicago during the recent polar vortex. I personally live about 150 miles from that area and know the woes of the subzero weather. The day before yesterday, I had to venture to work when it was -11 F. My KIA with its internal combustion engine (ICE) was nicely warmed when I got into it due to the great app that will start the car and turn on the heated seats and steering wheel from the comfort of my home. These EVs are simply horrible. I can’t even imagine them getting the cabin to a comfortable temperature without draining the battery to nothing, let alone getting you to your destination when it’s subzero. Then there is the safety factor. As the person in the video states, what happens if you go into a ditch? My ICE will run without issue for hours keeping nice and warm while I wait for a tow truck. How’s your battery going to hold up for you? The craziest part is, there are states that are mandating the abolition of ICE vehicles. I think Washington is one. That might be all right in Seattle. Go to the east of the Cascades and the climate get far colder during the winter. Sorry for you folks in Yakima and Spokane.
