The “gold standard” for detection of the plague has had its emergency use authorization (EUA) revoked. Apparently it could not tell the difference between the plague or flu or I contend even the common cold. It is also rediculous that it was ever considered a test for the plague since it used a computer generated strand of RNA as its sample to compare to. This was due to the CDC(or anyone else) did not having available any real plague virus to use to calibrate the test. Not to mention the test being cycled up to the point that the results were completely worthless due to false positives.
